Jeffrey Killeen joined
GlobalSpec as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in January 2002.
Prior to GlobalSpec, Mr. Killeen was CEO of Forbes.com, where he led
the development of Forbes' portfolio of online information
businesses. During his tenure at Forbes, Forbes.com was consistently
among the Top 10 electronic financial services, on a par with CNBC,
CNN.fn and WSJ.com. Before that he was President & COO of
BarnesandNoble.com, leading that organization from startup to the
world's third largest consumer ecommerce company, serving over 5
million customers in 181 countries.
Mr. Killeen has
also served as President & CEO of SBC New Media, CEO of Pacific
Bell Electronic Information Services, and CEO of ESS Ventures, a
joint venture between Pacific Bell and The Los Angeles
Times.
He began his
career at The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, where he held
executive posts in the marketing information, direct response, and
yellow pages businesses. His most recent post at D&B was as
Senior Vice President of Telco Operations for Reuben H. Donnelley,
the world's largest independent publisher and marketer of yellow
pages.
Killeen is a
frequent keynote speaker at events throughout the information
services industry, including Comdex, The Kelsey Group Conferences,
the Direct Marketing Association, and the Information Industry
Association.
In addition to
GlobalSpec, he serves on the Board of Directors of SkyTerra
Corporation, Dice, Inc., The Center For The Disabled, and The Lake
George Opera Company. Killeen is a 1975 graduate of St. Lawrence
University, holding a degree in Government & Political Science.
